A map editor is unlocked with the end of the game, and that may extend the playability if you manage to find good maps. The game is very beautiful, in a fairly unique way. Some buildings will spawn Darwinians, which can be used in battle or to finish map objectives. They get more weapons as the game goes on, in the form of "research" scattered throughout the world, or upgrades you can choose from. They go around, killing the virus or capturing buildings. You go in, spawn "tasks" (units), such as soldiers, engineers, etc. It's populated by Darwinians, little green dudes that go around, live their lives, and may or may not have developed sentience through thousands of virtual generations.
